Must-Have 2011 Releases

Before I reveal my absolute favorite books of 2010, here are the books topping my wish list for 2011. Some of these are part of a series, some stand on their own, but I’m looking forward to every single one. (Title links to Goodreads page.)

Beauty Queens ~ Libba Bray
All I can say is the idea is genius. Genius.

City of Fallen Angels ~ Cassandra Clare
I know there are a lot of people worried about what a fourth (and fifth and sixth) book will mean for Clary and Jace, but I’m kind of looking forward to seeing how their lives change after The Big Kiss. I like drama (fictional drama, anyway).

Don’t Breathe A Word ~ Holly Cupala
After the love I have for her writing after reading Tell Me A Secret, I would read Holly’s grocery list with anticipation as to what will happen next. Well, as long as she didn’t expect me to do the shopping for her. But seriously, her writing is Just. That. Good.

What Happened To Goodbye ~ Sarah Dessen
Let’s be honest: if Sarah Dessen writes a book, I will read it.

Where She Went ~ Gayle Forman
The number of books that made me weep (like, actual *weeping*) can be counted on one hand; If I Stay was one of them. It doesn’t surprise me that Mia would have Big Issues to deal with after the events of that book, and I’m looking forward to seeing how those issues impacted her life and those around her.

Demonglass ~ Rachel Hawkins
After the way Hex Hall ended, I need to know what happens next. Plus Sophie goes to London. I mean, it’s London, people.

The Piper’s Son ~ Melina Marchetta
I loved Saving Francesca; I love Melina Marchetta. Getting to revisit Tom and some of the other characters in that book is like a dream come true.

Bumped ~ Megan McCafferty
I love the Jessica Darling series – it’s the series that got me back into my habit of devouring books like chocolate – and I love the amount of thought and research that go into her writing. From what I’ve heard of this book, this seems to be the start of another great series.

Lola And The Boy Next Door ~ Stephanie Perkins
Nobody writes cute boys, kissing, and falling in love quite like Stephanie Perkins. That is why I can say that, even though I don’t know much more than the name of this book, I know right now that I will be purchasing it.

Small Town Sinners ~ Melissa Walker
I’m excited to see what seems to be a different direction for Melissa Walker. And this story seems like it will be right up my alley, too.
